FROM CANVAS TO COMMUNITY: DE PALM DMC’S ART FOR A CAUSE
A single piece of art can tell a story. Here, it became a meaningful contribution to the Aruban community itself. Through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Art for a Cause, De Palm DMC transformed a live artistic experience into tangible support for a local organization.
Hosted at the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa and Casino, the initiative was part of a larger event that welcomed approximately 225 guests. As part of the experience, attendees enjoyed a live airbrush performance by local artist Shaty. Over the course of three hours, an Aruba-themed masterpiece came to life. Developed in collaboration with the artist, the piece featured two sea turtles swimming together, symbolizing unity while reflecting Aruba’s natural heritage.
As the artwork evolved, guests participated in a silent auction for the final piece, while others contributed through additional donations. Together, these efforts raised USD 5,700 in support of a local cause.
The proceeds were donated to Centro Famia Piedra Plat, a foundation dedicated to strengthening families and communities through programs in art, music, theatre, and social development. Selected by the client for its strong connection to the arts and its active role within the community, the organization continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of both youth and the elderly. Contributions like these play a vital role in supporting and sustaining its initiatives.
Fully conceptualized and executed by De Palm DMC, the initiative included sourcing the local artist and aligning with the beneficiary foundation. Developed in close collaboration with the client, the experience was designed to create a meaningful and lasting contribution to the island they continue to choose as a destination. It also reinforces De Palm Tours’ commitment to social sustainability, ensuring that experiences extend beyond the event itself and contribute positively to the community.
