DE PALM TOURS SETS THE STANDARD FOR SUSTAINABLE TOURISM IN ARUBA

For De Palm Tours, sustainability is not an initiative, it is a responsibility. As Aruba’s largest and most experienced tour operator, with over 65 years of history on the island, every experience we offer is designed not only to showcase Aruba but to help protect it for future generations.
This commitment is reflected in our achievement of Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) certification, positioning us as the first and only tour operator in the Caribbean and Latin America to meet this globally recognized standard. Together with seven consecutive EarthCheck certifications and a second Gold recertification, these milestones reflect years of measurable progress and accountability.
Our approach is driven by action. From a 1 MW solar array powering De Palm Island to a soon-to-be LEED-designed Operations Center, we continuously invest in solutions that reduce our environmental footprint. Initiatives such as eco-driver training, AI-powered fleet monitoring, reef-safe sunscreen, refillable water stations, and waste reduction programs ensure that sustainability is embedded into our daily operations. This commitment is also reflected in our experiences, with Palm Pleasure sailing up to 70% by wind and Atlantis Submarines operating on 100% battery-powered technology, reinforcing our focus on responsible practices at every level.
Beyond our operations, this same commitment extends into the community. Through The Giving Palm and our Green Team, team members actively lead beach cleanups, recycling initiatives, and educational programs. Milestones such as diverting over 450 kilograms of plastic from landfills and hosting Art for a Greener Tomorrow event demonstrate how sustainability is brought to life through collective effort and community engagement.
Looking ahead, De Palm Tours continues to expand its role in environmental education and conservation. The upcoming Coral Academy in 2026 marks a major step forward, positioning the company at the forefront of marine education, coral restoration, and long-term reef protection in Aruba, further reinforcing our leadership in sustainable tourism.
Sustainability is not a single achievement. It is a continuous journey shaped by innovation, responsibility, and the people behind it. At De Palm Tours, it is a promise we live every day.
