ART FOR A GREENER TOMORROW: HONORING DE PALM TOURS’ 65-YEAR LEGACY THROUGH ART

DSC07257

In celebration of its 65th anniversary, De Palm Tours proudly hosted Art for a Greener Tomorrow on May 31, 2025, at the EPI Auditorium. This inspiring event brought together 15 enthusiastic 6th-grade classes to showcase original artworks created from recycled and sustainable materials.

Students were challenged to design a piece that represented Aruba, sustainability, De Palm Tours, and the legacy of 65 years in tourism. With a clear list of approved and prohibited materials, the competition promoted mindful creativity and environmental awareness.

The event offered a festive atmosphere for all ages with an engaging MC, DJ, brass band, interactive workshops, face painting by EZ Party Rental, and educational booths. Families enjoyed snacks, beverages, and the popular DrCoco Raspou stand, which was a favorite among the children.

A panel of five judges walked through the exhibits and listened to each student presentation. The judging panel included Nichole Danser from Scrubble Bubbles, local artists Indra Stamper and Romelinda Maldonado, Edwards Jiménez from EcoTech, and Tony Sevold from the Metabolic Foundation. After careful evaluation, they selected three winning classes.

Congratulations to the winners:
First place: Paso pa Futuro 6A — awarded De Palm Island tickets, including roundtrip bus transfers
Second place: Pius X School 6B — awarded Atlantis Submarine tickets, including roundtrip bus transfers
Third place: Colegio San Hose 6B — awarded Butterfly Farm tickets, including roundtrip bus transfers

All participating students were awarded a medal made from recycled wood in recognition of their effort, creativity, and commitment to sustainability.

Art for a Greener Tomorrow was open to the public and welcomed the community to support local youth while celebrating eco-conscious innovation. The success of the event was made possible by the collaboration of students, teachers, families, sponsors, and everyone who worked behind the scenes.

Due to the overwhelming success and in the spirit of giving back that defines De Palm Tours, this marks the beginning of what will become an annual event. We look forward to continuing this tradition and inspiring future generations to care for Aruba through creativity and collaboration.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to those who helped bring this vision to life. To the students who shared their imagination, the teachers who supported them, and the families who stood by them, thank you. To our dedicated judges Nichole Danser, Indra Stamper, Romelinda Maldonado, Edwards Jiménez, and Tony Sevold, your guidance and encouragement meant so much.
